Bolin looked up from the newspaper he borrowed from Mako when the door to their apartment opened.
"Hey Korra," he smiled "how was practice? Any progress on airbending?"
"Same as usual. I don't really feel like I'm getting any closer to mastering that cursed element!" Korra growled as she slammed the door.
"Don't worry! I just know you'll get it someday!" Bolin finished and looked back down at the article he was reading.
"Thanks for all the encouragement Bo, it means a lot!" Korra then turned to Mako who was standing over the stove. "What's for lunch, Mr. Hat Trick? I'm famished!"
"Noodles and Dumplings. It's almost done too, just another minute." He replied.
"Sounds delicious!" she said as she wrapped her arm around his shoulders.
Korra's sudden movement caught Bolin's attention and he looked up from the paper. He just smiled and thought *Oh yeah, she TOTALLY wants him!* and it became even clearer as she leaned her head on his shoulder and Bolin's eyebrows shot up and he chuckled under his breath *Oh I can't wait to be an uncle!*
"Okay, it's done." Mako said as he gently shook his shoulder, telling Korra to get off. He then grabbed the three bowls beside him and filled them with noodles and then placed four dumplings on top of the heap of noodles.
"Put those on the table, please." He asked Korra. She nodded and did what she was told.
"C'mon Bo, lunch is ready." He said lifting his head up to see his brother.
"Ooh, lunch!" Bolin said as he shot up from his place on the couch.
They all sat down and inhaled the meal. When they were done, Mako got up and decided to clean the pots he used to cook the meal in while Korra washed their bowls and Bolin washed off the table with a cloth.
When Korra was done with her chore she walked over to Mako. "That was really good."
"Thanks Korra,"
"You're welcome. Are you almost done washing those because Bo and I are done and we can leave as soon as you are."
"Well dry those 3 pots and put them in that cabinet and then dry those last two after I wash them. We should be able to leave after that."
Korra grabbed a dry cloth and dried the remaining pots. When the task was done she placed her hands on her hips. "I guess that's it, let's go guys!" She walked to the door and Bolin followed her. Mako grabbed some yuans and walked out with his brother and the Avatar.
--
Korra walked out of the dressing room and looked at the dress she had on. She turned a few times and frowned.
"What's wrong with that one?" Mako questioned as he watched Korra scowl at her outfit. He was starting to wonder if she'd ever find one she liked. "I think it looks fine."
"I don't like the fabric and the colors aren't the best." She said as she walked back into the small room and pulled the curtain.
"How many more do you have to try on?" He tried to sound as impatient as possible but was just fine right where he was – how could he complain? He was watching Korra come out in all these new, beautiful dresses.
"Only three more don't worry, and then I get to help you pick out something to wear. Although you're not much of a help since every dress I put on looks "fine." She giggled to herself, *Haha…Men – they have no sense of style!*
"Well I don't understand why you haven't picked one yet, personally I think every dress you've had on you look beautiful in."  He said.
Korra started to blush "Well, Thank you Mako but girls' sense of style is different than a guys." She said, stepping out of the dressing room.
Korra stepped out in a strapless, ocean blue dress. The bottom of the dress came to a stop just above her knees and the bottom was lined with white. The top on the dress cut into a small "V" shape on her chest and it was lined with white too. It came with a thin brown belt the rested on her waist. She smoothed out the dress and gave her reflection a smile.
Mako was speechless. She was gorgeous. "I really like that one." He spoke, not even thinking about taking his eyes off her.
She turned around. "You do? I do too." She stood there for a few more seconds, lost in thought. "This is the one!" Mako smiled as she twirled around and entered the dressing room again.
*Wow,* he thought to himself *She's gonna be lookin' hot tonight!*
Moments later then curtain opened revealing Korra in her normal clothes, clutching her dress. "You're turn! Now let's go pick some suits out." She said, walking back into men's section of the shop. Mako got up and followed her.
--
Korra sat down in the chair and watched Mako step into the dressing room. "So how many suits do you have? Besides the ones I picked out for you."
"Uhhh, two." He replied as he sorted through the clothes he had to try on.
Korra just rolled her eyes and shook her head *He could care less what he's wearing to this thing. Well, he should, he's got to impress his girlfriend…* Korra sighed and let a scowl form across her lips.
Oh, how she despised the non-bender.
Mako walked out in the first suit and looked in the mirror in front of him and nodded his head. He turned to look at Korra - "Well?" She looked him up and down for a moment, and then shook her head. He groaned and turned to go back into the dressing room "You know I thought it looked good,"
"Of course you did, that's you, everything looks great, and everything someone tries on is flawless." She said with a grin.
He let a chuckle escape his mouth as he changed the shirt he was wearing.
Four more suits later and the perfect one still hadn't come around. He came out again in a new tuxedo. "I think we should just settle for this one because I'm getting tired of doing this."
"Oh come on! You need to get the perfect one. Remember, you have a girlfriend to impress!" Korra succeeded in holding back her sarcastic tone when finishing the sentence.
*I'm not really trying to impress HER…* Mako thought. "Okay…" He sighed.
When he went back into the dressing room Korra let her anger show. She puffed out air and sneered but put her normal face back on when she heard footsteps coming toward her.
"Hey Korra!" she heard a cheerful voice boom. "How's it going? Did ya find anything?"
She turned to see a handsome Bolin behind her. "Wow Bolin is that what you're wearing?"
He wore a white button-up shirt with a hunter green vest that matched the color of his element and was topped off with a black dress coat, green tie, black pants and a fedora with a band of green around the center.
"Yeah, it is. You like it?" He asked.
"I love it! It looks great on you Bo!" She beamed.
"Aw, thanks Korra. Did you find anything?"
"I did actually. This." She said holding up the blue dress in front of him.
"Wow. I bet you'll be the center of attention tonight!" He smiled.
"She looked great in it when she tried in on." Mako spoke from behind the two.
Korra started to blush when she turned to see Mako in his new tuxedo.
"Hey, that one looks really good!" She exclaimed.
He turned to look in the mirror and liked what he saw. His suit looked exactly like Bolin's except for the color of the vest – which of course was red.
Bolin walked over to his brother. Now with their outfits on, they looked more like twins rather than brothers. "You've got a good sense of style, bro." He laughed, throwing an arm around his brother.
"Oh, I didn't pick this out," Mako said as he looked at Korra. She smiled at him.
"Well Korra sure has a good taste in fashion. She really made you look good." Bolin said still staring at his look-alike.
"Well there's one thing missing," Korra said as she got up from the chair and went into the dressing room and pulled out Mako's scarf. She walked back over and stood in front of him and wrapped the scarf around his neck. "There, now it's perfect." She said putting both of her hands on his chest.
He gave her a genuine smile and wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her in closer to him. "Thank You." He whispered.
"You're welcome, Mr. Hat Trick." She replied as she laid her head on him. They stood there for a few moments, enjoying how close they were to each other until Korra spoke up. "Well, go change, both of you, and then we can pay and leave."
Bolin nodded and walked to the dressing room that he was in. Korra and Mako finally let each other go and Mako walked back in the small room.
Mako walked out moments later with his tuxedo and was greeted by Korra and Bolin. "You ready?" Bolin asked.
Mako nodded and they went off to pay for their stuff.
"Well, that was fun guys!" Korra giggled as they walked out of the shop.
"Yeah, it was." Bolin and Mako agreed.
They talked as they made their way back to the arena.
When they made it back Mako and Bolin stopped to say their goodbyes to Korra.
"Well, I'll get back to the island. See ya tonight guys!" Korra said as she ran to the ferry.
"Bye Korra!" They both waved.
--
Korra hopped on the ferry, holding the bag that had her gorgeous dress in it, and wearing a big smile on her face.
*This,* she thought *is going to be the best night ever!*
